It lies in the lands of the Beni Hassan tribe, inside the Tetouan section of Talassemtane National Park. On its northern slope, at about 1100 metres, is the village of Tamalout; on its eastern slope, the commune of Ouled Ali Mansour and the area of Khams Beni Hassan.

From the west, the path starts at the hamlet of Adar, the highest settlement in the province, above the Ouadiyine pass. Between Kelti and Jbel Aliouiyine lies the village of Iaanen, on the Tasfit river.
